The objective of the Seminar: is to train participants (mainly engineers with experience) on procurement methods, solicitors and accountants.
The Seminar focuses on the successful implementation of a project from identification of the Project to putting it into operation.
This process includes all the types of procurements (4 types):
- Procurement of works: i.e. construction.
- Procurement of Goods: i.e. electro-mechanical equipment including their supply, erection, commissioning and tests.
- Procurement of Services: i.e. employment of consultants to design and supervise the implementation of the project.
- Procurement of shopping: i.e. forms to be used for buying individual items e.g. vehicles, computer etc.
In this respect Participants will be trained to use the best type of strategy and the relevant type of documents for both tendering and contracting.
They shall choose the relevant type of FIDIC documents for this purpose.
They will be trained to prepare tender documents, contract documents, to evaluate tenders and supervise the construction of the works, erection, commissioning and testing together with selection of consultants.
The Seminar will, also, focus on supervision of the works including filing, forms, HSE, payments to contractors, taking- over of the works & remedying defects.
The Seminar will discuss the dispute resolution methods and a little discussion on arbitration.
